About TWSS Columbia

Our Producer & Director

Meet the driving force behind TWSS Columbia, Allie Teagarden.

Allie was born in Kansas City, Missouri, raised in Kansas, and has lived in Columbia since 2017. The love and support of her parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, friends, and mentors shaped her into the person she is today. She's a proud alumna of Kansas State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and spent the first 11 years of her career in higher education, leading teams and programs while serving exceptional students at public universities across the Midwest. Allie embarked on this journey with TWSS in March 2022 and credits her nonprofit leadership experience with the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana as making this all possible - both in introducing her to TWSS and in helping her develop the skills needed to produce a show here in CoMo. Allie married her college sweetheart, Dr. Kale Monk, in 2011. They welcomed their daughter Andie to the family in 2020 & their rescue dog Remy joined in the fun in 2022. TWSS was founded by three women who wanted to make the world a better place for their daughters and daughters all over the world. Andie is Allie's reason for producing this show and her highest goal is to help her and all women feel empowered to make a difference in their communities and the world.

Our 2026 Charity Partner

We are thrilled to announce our 2026 partnership with

Voluntary Action Center.

"Voluntary Action Center is honored to have been chosen as the nonprofit partner for That’s What She Said Columbia. This inspiring event uplifts women’s voices and stories—something we deeply value as we work every day to meet the basic needs of individuals and families in Boone County. With proceeds from this partnership, VAC will be able to provide essential hygiene products like deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, and body wash—items that are often overlooked but vital to dignity, confidence, and self-care. We’re grateful to be part of a celebration that empowers women and strengthens our community."

-Stacie Pottinger, Chief Development Officer of Voluntary Action Center

Calling All Storytellers!

We’re always on the lookout for everyday women from Columbia who have an incredible story to tell at one of our upcoming shows.

Being a TWSS speaker goes beyond just sharing a story; it's about becoming part of a national movement dedicated to raising women's voices. Speakers join a community of hundreds of women who have graced TWSS stages since 2013, leaving a profound impact on communities across the country.

If you (or a woman you know!) has a powerful story, we'd love to to hear it.

Speaker Spotlight!

Each year, That's What She Said Columbia features 8-10 local women who share their powerful stories with our community.

That's What Teens Say

At TWSS Columbia, we strive to take empowering women in our community to the next level by giving a platform for the women of tomorrow to share their voices. That’s What Teens Say Columbia is a unique program designed for young women aged 13-18 in the Columbia community, providing them with a unique opportunity to explore the power of their voice, connect with other teens, and get a chance to share their story from the stage for their friends and family.

As we gear up for the next installment of That’s What Teens Say, we invite you to nominate a teen girl in your life who you think would benefit from this transformative weekend. This empowering three-day workshop offers confidence-building exercises, creative writing activities, improv games, and more tools designed to help them realize the power that their voice can have.
